Research on the development of innovative technological solutions using ground post-production waste in anti-static rubber sheets, with potential application in explosive atmospheres (hazardous areas).

Zakłady Chemiczne Spółdzielnia Pracy have signed a grant agreement for a research and development project and have commenced implementation of project No. FEPZ.01.01-IZ.00-0036/24, entitled:

“Research on the development of innovative technological solutions using ground post-production waste in anti-static rubber sheets, with potential application in explosive atmospheres (hazardous areas).”

The project is implemented under the programme European Funds for West Pomerania 2021–2027Priority 1: European Funds for an Entrepreneurial West PomeraniaMeasure 1.1: Comprehensive R&D projects of enterprises.

The objective of the project is to develop a new, technologically advanced product for the market and to strengthen our economic potential. With environmental protection and the zero-waste policy in mind, we see the need to create an innovative anti-static product that incorporates ground post-production waste (OPM) in its composition.

The research challenge we face is to obtain an optimised form and type of OPM that will enable the development of a technology for reusing production residues while maintaining high physicochemical performance parameters of the anti-static product. The ecological trend highlights the need for operational, closed-loop cycles across the entire material chain, aimed at increasing environmental compatibility, protecting resources and reducing waste.

The outcome of the project will be a new product aligned with environmental responsibility. From an ecological perspective, it will allow us to reduce the amount of post-production rubber residues and, consequently, our impact on environmental pollution.

Ultimately, the results of the R&D work will benefit our existing customers as well as new customers in Poland and abroad. Due to its anti-static properties, the sheet may have a wide range of applications across many industries, including: electronics, energy, automotive, marine, aviation, mining, petrochemical, defence and construction.
