The project “Development of Innovative Technological Solutions by Zakłady Chemiczne Spółdzielnia Pracy in Goleniów for the Agricultural Sector,” co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Regional Operational Programme of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship for 2014–2020, was completed with the development of a product introduced under the name BIOMATS.

BIOMATS are a vulcanised, two-layer product intended for manufacturing conveyor belt sidewalls (borders), loading chutes, protective flaps for spreaders, irrigation system covers/guards, etc., in the agricultural industry.

The product is intended for potential contact with water, alcohol up to 10% concentration, and dry foodstuffs such as: unprocessed cereals, starch, flour, pasta, dry confectionery products, sugar, fresh fruit and vegetables, whole and shelled nuts, eggs, cheese, dried foods, herbs and spices in their natural state. In addition, global migration testing permits contact with all types of hydrated foods, foods containing alcohol, and dairy products with pH > 4.5, in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 of 14 January 2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food, with regard to the overall migration limit to food simulants A, C, D1 and E.

The product meets the requirements of Commission Regulation (EU) No 1272/2013 of 6 December 2013, amending Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) concerning the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals (REACH) with respect to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), as well as Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2011 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
